Although the contract structure was traditional Lump Sum, Harvey Builders provided substantial up-front preconstruction services and value engineering to help the project meet the tight budget and even tighter schedule. Construction of the Diagnostic Clinic of Houston was completed on time through an aggressive 16-week schedule. Teamwork between Harvey and all of the design professionals allowed the project to get off to a smooth start and helped ensure an overall delivery that met their every need.
The upper floors of the project include 80 clinical exam rooms and 40 physicians' offices. In the middle is the 5,000 square foot laboratory, information technologies department and administrative offices. The ground floor houses the 11,000 square foot imaging center. The imaging center provides X-ray, CT, CAT, PET, and MRI as well as infusion services. In addition to all the technical aspects of building a diagnostic clinic, this project included an abundance of design features to make it a unique facility without compromising function.
