Alamo Manhattan

SAN ANTONIO (Oct. 28, 2015) — District 1 City Councilman Roberto C. Treviño, County Judge Nelson Wolff, County Commissioner Tommy Calvert and representatives from Alamo Manhattan and Harvey-Cleary Builders gathered today to announce the groundbreaking of the River North neighborhood’s newest mixed-use development.

The project is Alamo Manhattan’s first in San Antonio and will be built by Harvey-Cleary. The development will be the latest addition to the Museum Reach section of San Antonio’s world-renowned River Walk. Located along Jones Avenue near the San Antonio Museum of Art, the 191-unit residential community will offer 1,614 square feet of ground floor retail and underground parking.

"The Alamo Manhattan River Walk groundbreaking is another great step forward for our urban core and our city,” Mayor Ivy R. Taylor said. “We are building the kind of city where more people want to live in the 21st century: environmentally friendly, adjacent to great public amenities like the River Walk and with convenient commercial space built in."

The property will offer a one-of-a-kind living experience. Featuring outdoor amenity decks and a rooftop terrace, the design aesthetic will make it one of the premier luxury apartment communities in San Antonio.

“I am proud to have the Alamo Manhattan River Walk project in District 1,” Councilman Treviño said. “It’s a great development that will enhance and add to the mix of residential offerings in the downtown area and advance our goal of making downtown everyone’s neighborhood.”

The City of San Antonio will provide more than $4.4 million in incentives to the project as part of the Center City Housing Incentive Program to foster expansion of the River North neighborhood. Bexar County will also provide more than $500,000 in tax incentives. The project is expected to be completed by summer 2017. The project illustrates the continued growth in the River North neighborhood that was envisioned when the Midtown Tax Increment Financing Zone was created in late 2008.

“San Antonio is a fast-growing city with a big vision,” said Wade Johns, Vice President of Alamo Manhattan. “Our company has wanted to be here for awhile and we are thrilled to be working on a project in such a fantastic location on the River Walk. The City and County have been great to work with and they have provided incentives that help make a project like this a reality.”
