Kelly Hall

Kelly Hall was born in Piedras Negras, Mexico. His grandfather was a Rancher in South Texas and had decided to diversify and purchase a ranch in Mexico. During the same period of time, his mother was pregnant with him. At that time, a person had to be a Mexican citizen to purchase land in Mexico. After thorough research, the best possible hospital was found in a border town in Mexico. The intent was for his grandfather to buy the ranch in Kelly's name as a citizen of Mexico. Long story short, the ranch was never purchased and Kelly retained dual citizenship until the age of 18. His family relocated from the Valley to Pearland, Texas when he was just one or two years old.

Growing up Kelly played defensive and offensive tackle, ran track and served on the Student Council at Pearland High School. He left Pearland for Texas A&M where he struggled to find a career path he could relate to. A friend suggested Kelly look into construction. Since his father was in the dirt business early in his career and Kelly could relate to construction, he found he enjoyed it. Kelly began working at Harvey in 1993 on the Allen Center Renovation in Downtown Houston.

Kelly and his wife, Charlotte reside in Pearland with their two children, Wyatt and Lily. They have two rescue poodles named Tyson and Lila. When Kelly is not busy at work he enjoys fishing, bird hunting and snow skiing. Kelly serves on the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo (HLSR) Lamb/Goat Auction Committee and the Texas A&M Construction Industry’s Advisory Council.

What was your first paying job?
At 15 years old, I went to the grocery store with my mother. I decided I needed to make some money so I applied for a job. They hired me on the spot. I walked back to the checkout line and told my Mom that I needed a ride to work the next day because I was not old enough to drive. I worked at Kroger as a sacker making $3.35 an hour! They wouldn’t negotiate higher pay.

If Hollywood made a movie about your life, whom would you like to see play the lead role as you?
John Wayne, because he has a strong personality.

If you could be a superhero, what would you want your superpowers to be?
Leap tall buildings in a single bound.

When you were four, what did you want to be?
I wanted to be a truck driver.

If you could have dinner with anyone dead or alive, who would it be and why?
George Bush, because I would enjoy hearing the stories about running the most powerful country in the world.
